Shirley Hudson Turner



Services for Shirley Hudson Turner, 72, Cairo, are at 3 p.m. Monday, July 14, 2008, at Eastside Baptist Church in Cairo, where she was a member. The Rev. Carl Harrell will officiate. Interment is at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be at Clark Funeral Home Sunday, July 13, 2008, from 5 to 7 p.m. Pallbearers are Hunter Turner, Lucas Turner, Matt Lowe, Jack Tuten, Hershel Ansley, Jack Drew, Johnny Hudson and Buddy Sasser. Mrs. Turner died Friday, July 11, 2008, at Archbold Memorial Hospital. She was born Jan. 17, 1936, in Grady County to the late Luke and Effie Cox Hudson. She grew up in the Bold Springs community and was retired from Sunnyland. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Rodney and Cindy Turner, Terry and Jenny Turner, Tony and Pegi Turner; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Billy Hopkins, of Cairo; grandchildren, Victoria and Eric Walden, Audrey Turner, Hunter Turner, Lucas Turner, Jamie Turner, Kim and Matt Lowe, Malone and Jack Tuten, and Jessica Turner of Cairo, Cristy Dukes of Quitman, Chris and Gloria Hopkins, Amber Wilson and Brooks Hopkins of Thomasville; great-grandchildren, Aubrey Walden, Kenleigh Walden, Connor Lowe, Hayden Lowe, and Kierstynn Tuten of Cairo, Dannyelle Dukes and Emily Dukes of Quitman; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Ronald and Delores Ramsey and Billy and Helen Moore of Thomasville; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Aubrey Turner, whom she married Dec. 13, 1952, her parents, brother, Jack Hudson, and sisters, Elene Hudson and Doris Hudson Jones.
