Hubert (Pat) Hilton Wilford



Graveside services for Hubert (Pat) Hilton Wilford, 62, of Albany, are 11 a.m. Monday at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Thomasville. Dr. Jimmy Clanton will officiate. Born Sept. 10, 1946, in Thomasville, he was the son of the late Hubert A. and Emma Bozeman Wilford. On Aug. 21, 1971, in Thomasville, at First Baptist Church, he married Beverly Clanton Wilford, who survives. Mr. Wilford was a US Army veteran, having served in the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam. He was a graduate of Valdosta State University. He was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Albany and was also a member of the Dougherty County Rotary Club. Mr. Wilford was retired from Southwest Georgia District Public Health, where he was an administrator. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and garden. Mr. Wilford died Oct. 10, 2008, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. Other survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and David Davis of Strongsville, Ohio; son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Karsen Wilford of Chelsea, Ala.; grandchildren, Kathryn Davis and Patrick Davis; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Jan Wilford of Thomasville; sister-in-law, Nancy Wilford of Pavo; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Sue Clanton of Thomasville; nephew, Danial Wilford of Atlanta; special friends, Robert and Peggy Pollock; and extended family and friends. Mr. Wilford was preceded in death by a brother, William (Pete) Wilford. Memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International, P.O. Box 2361, Thomasville, GA. 31799.
