James Williams

THOMASVILLE — Funeral services for James Williams, 59, of Thomasville will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at St. Luke C.M.E. Church, 305 Chatham Drive.  Rev. Quinn Choice, Pastor and officiating services with interment to follow at Peaceful Rest Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Robert Lee, Keith Williams, James Rogers, Jr. and Roosevelt Nash.  Mr. Williams was born on April 23, 1955 in Valdosta to the late Tommy and Mae Lee Williams.  He was a member of St. Luke C.M.E. Church and a graduate of Thomas County Central High School.  Mr. Williams was self-employed and lived in Thomasville for 40 years.  On April 1, 2013, Mr. Williams wed Ms. Elaine Whitehead in Thomasville and their union would continue until the time of his passing.  Mr. Williams departed this life on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at his home.  Survivors to cherish his memory include his wife Elaine Whitehead Williams; two sons, James Williams (Stacy) and Quinton Williams (Anna) both of Thomasville; two step-daughters, Evelyn J. Whitehead and Vennis V. Whitehead; mother, Liza Mae Irwin of Sanford, Florida; three brothers, John H. Wimberly (Jennifer) of Sanford, FL, Flem Williams (Roxanne) and J.C. Williams all of Thomasville; four sisters, Frankie M. Edge (Carlton) of Lake Monroe, FL, Janice Evelyn (Steven) of Deltona, FL, Jeanette W. Walker (Norris) and Elizabeth Mitchell all of Sanford, FL; granddaughter Myrackle Williams of Thomasville; brothers-in-law Robert Lee Sparrow (Annette) and Willie James Whitehead all of Thomasville and Theodore Coleman of Sanford, FL; sister-in-law Diane Tyler (Russell); aunt Virginia Williams Sweet of Florida and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends.  He was preceded in death by his father Tommy Williams; step-mother Mae Lee Williams; step-father George Irwin, Sr. and oldest brother Lawrence Wimberly, Jr.  A public viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  The body will lie instate from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral hour with no viewing following the eulogy. — Hatcher-Peoples Funeral Home
