Susan Michele (Orton) Vickers

THOMASVILLE — Services for Susan Michele (Orton) Vickers, 41, of Camilla are at 2 p.m., Friday, Aug. 20 at Mathews Funeral Home in Albany. Pastor Charles Gilbert will officiate. Mrs. Vickers died Friday, Aug. 13, at Mitchell County Hospital in Camilla. A native of Albany, Ga., Michele had lived in Camilla for the past 17 years moving from Lee County, Ga. She was a seventh grade English and literature teacher at Baconton Community Charter School. Michele was a 1987 graduate of Lee County High School, a graduate of Darton College, received her bachelor’s degree from Valdosta State University and her teaching certificate from Thomas University. Survivors include her husband, Walter (Gator) Vickers; a son, Frederick Wilson (Wil) Vickers; a daughter, Lenzie Suzanne Vickers all of Camilla; her parents, Fred and Sue Orton of Lee County, Ga.; grandmother, Frances Eleanor Orton of Lee County, Ga.; a brother, Charles Allan Orton and his wife, Kelley and their daughter, Helen of Camden, S.C.  Preceding her in death were maternal grandparents, Robert and Helen Poole of Thomasville, Ga.; and paternal grandfather, Charles (Chuck) Orton of Leesburg, Ga. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Baconton Community Carter School, 260 E. Walton St., Baconton, Ga. 31716. The family will be at the residence of Fred and Sue Orton, 101 Lavender Drive, Leesburg, Ga. 31763.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., today at the funeral home.
