Kay Griffin Blair

— Services for Kay Griffin Blair, 74, of Cairo, are at 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at Providence Baptist Church, Whigham. The Rev. Chad Cooper and the Rev. Steve Singletary will officiate.  Interment will be at Providence Church Cemetery, Whigham. Mrs. Blair passed away at her daughter’s home in Grady County on Monday, Dec. 30, 2013. Mrs. Blair was born on June 12, 1939, in Watertown, N.Y., to the late Clarence Rice and Gwendolyn Baldick Rice. She had worked with Archbold Medical Center as a licensed practical nurse. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Whigham. Survivors include daughters, Kimberly Griffin Cooper (Young), of Cairo, Melani Jo Griffin Giddens (Grady), of Cairo, Krysty Griffin Draper (James), of Cairo; son, James Hilton Griffin Jr. (Patty), of Cairo; 14 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, James H. Griffin; her second husband, Lawrence Blair; brother, Paul Rice; and sisters, Beverly Grooms, Betty Groff, and Barbara French.
