Randall Adrian Miller

THOMASVILLE — Randall Adrian Miller of Atlanta, GA, passed away January 2, 2013. Mr. Miller was born in Meigs, GA, October 19, 1920. He is survived by daughter Debra M. Mirring, son Randall A. Miller II, grandchildren Blake and Ryan Mirring, and niece Lyn Barnett.  Randall is predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Alliene Miller, as well as father Joe Harris Miller and mother Ona Mae Miller; siblings Evelyn Miller, Osborne Miller, Clarence Miller, Leah Godwin, Myla Lee Alligood, Sybil Mahan; and cousins Hiram Scheffsky and F.L. Scheffsky.  Mr. Miller is a decorated World War II veteran, receiving the Bronze Star for bravery in the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Miller has resided in the Atlanta area since 1952 and had a very successful career of 33 years with The Prudential Insurance Co. before retiring in 1980.  Mr. Miller spent most of his adult life advising family, friends, and clients how to plan for financial security, independence, and retirement.  Mr. Miller loved to play golf and was a passionate football fan, but his favorite passion was being a great husband and father, and of those two he has no equal.  A funeral service will be held Monday, January 6, 2013 at 11 o’clock a.m. at H.M. Patterson and Son-Arlington Chapel, Sandy Springs, GA with visitation one hour prior. A reception will follow the service at Patterson’s.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Hospice Atlanta, 5775 Glenridge Drive, Suite E200, Atlanta, Georgia 30328, or the Wounded Warrior Project, — Patterson’s Arlington Chapel
