Jackie Travis Bryant

THOMASVILLE — Services for Jackie Travis Bryant, 65, of Cairo, are at 3 p.m., Sunday, March 30, 2014, at Pine Park Baptist Church, Cairo. The Rev. Gordon Cloud will officiate and interment is in Pine Park Baptist Church Cemetery.  Mr. Bryant passed away at his home on Wednesday, March 26, 2014. Pallbearers are Hunter Burgess, Dustin McClelland, Layne Davis, Gus Bryant, Doug Bond and Danny Slaughter. Mr. Bryant was born on August 14, 1948, in Cairo, to William Travis Bryant and Hulayne Augusta Davis Bryant.  He was a retired construction contractor.  Jackie had served as a Grady County Commissioner from 1979–1982.  He was a member of Pine Park Baptist Church, Cairo. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Michelle Hurst (Donnie) of Thomasville; son and daughter-in-law, Clayton Bryant (Aya) of Okinawa Japan; grandchildren and spouses, Dustin McClelland of Adel, Chelsey McClelland of Tifton, Hunter Burgess of Cairo, Marcus Bryant of Okinawa, Japan; his parents, Travis and Hulayne Bryant of Cairo; brother and sisters-in-law, Robert Bryant (Sheryl) of Cairo, Wanda Bryant of Cairo; sister and brother-in-law, Amanda McAdams (James) of Tallahassee Fla.; uncle and aunt, Billy and Patsy Davis of Cairo; nieces and nephews, Deirdre Raquel McAdams, Augustus Eric Bryant, Augustus Gavyn Bryant, Josha Travis Bryant and Jena Bryant, Will Bryant and Sam Bryant, Jeffery and Kelly Joyner, Austin, Tyson, and  Landry Joyner all of Cairo. Mr. Bryant was preceded in death by a brother, Ted Bryant. Memorials may be made in Mr. Bryant’s memory to Pine Park Baptist Church Pastoriam Building Fund, 3783 Pine Park Road, Cairo, Ga. 39828.
