Erie Warren Smith

THOMASVILLE — Services for Erie Warren Smith, 50, of Thomasville, are at 11 a.m., March 29, 2014, at St. Mark AME Church, 700 Lester St. The Rev. James Banks and the Rev. Will Thomas, pastor, will  officiate and interment is in Peaceful Cemetery. Pallbearers are members of the Thomasville High School Class of 1982. Mr. Smith died March 23 at Archbold Hospital. Born March 8, 1964, in Thomasville, he was the son of the late Jackson and Ruth Ella Smith. He was a member of St. Mark AME Church, a construction worker and a 1982 graduate of Thomasville High School. Survivors include brothers, Jackson Smith Jr. (Dorothy) of Thomasville, Andre Smith of Atlanta; son, DeShadre Lamar Smith of Thomasville; fiance, Freda Lee of Thomasville; sister-in-law, Anita Smith of Thomasville; granddaughter, Brianna Evans of Thomasville; special cousin, Walter Smith; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by father, Jackson Smith Sr.; mother, Ruth Ella Smith; and brother, Ronald Smith. The viewing is from noon to 8 p.m., today at the funeral home and from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral hour with no viewing after the eulogy on Saturday at the church. — Hatcher-Peoples Funeral Home
