Willie Pearl Murray

Services for Mrs. Willie Pearl Murray, 74, of Thomasville will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Willowhead M.B. Church in Thomasville.  Pastor William Brinson, officiating, Rev. Walter Pittman eulogist with interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Cassidy Rd., Thomasville. Pallbearers will be Mrs. Murray’s nephews.  Mrs. Murray was born on July 8, 1938 in Thomas County to the late Mose Roan and Gussie Lee Pittman.  She was a member of Willowhead M.B. Church and she attended Magnolia School in Thomasville.  Mrs. Murray was married to Mr. Rosebud Murray in Thomas County and their union would continue on until the time of his passing in 1991.  During her life she worked as a dietician and laborer.  Mrs. Murray was a lifelong resident of Thomas County and she departed this life on Monday, December 10, 2012 at Brooks County Hospital in Quitman.  Survivors to cherish her memory include her daughters Vernel Pittman of Atlanta and Maple Pittman Kemp of Thomasville; sons Anthony Pittman of Moultrie, Walter Pittman (Cynthia) and Marvin Pittman both of Thomasville; sisters Bamma Garvin (George) and Claudia Lee (Charles) both of Springfield, MA and Dr. Genesis Pittman and Gussie Pittman both of Birmingham, AL; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends.  The visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until 8:00 p.m. on Friday.  The remains will lie instate at the church from 12:00 Noon until the funeral hour. — Hatcher-Peoples Funeral Home
