James Miller Poole

— Funeral services for James Miller Poole, 76, of Cairo will be at 11 a.m., Monday, December 30, 2013, at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Cairo. The Rev. Miles Carter will officiate. Services will conclude at the church. Interment will be in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Whigham. Active pallbearers will be Tommy Barrineau, Charles Barrineau, Jack Barrineau, Clifton Donalson, Marvin Bell and Steve Walden. Poole was born on November 17, 1937, in Thomasville to the late James William Poole and Margaret Martin Poole. On October 17, 1959, he married Betty Jean Barrineau Poole, who survives. He was retired from the United States Army and Archbold Memorial Hospital. He was a very active member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. Poole passed away at his home on Friday, December 27, 2013. Survivors include his wife, Betty Jean Poole of Cairo; sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Susan Poole of Cairo, Barry and Sara Poole of Cairo, David and Becky Poole of Ochlocknee; grandchildren and spouses, Jessica and Henry Spires of Cairo, Eric Poole of Panama City Beach, Fla., Kasey Poole of Cairo, Allen Poole of Cairo, Garrett, Connor and Emma Kate Poole, all of Ochlocknee; great-grandchildren, Ian and Cole Spires, both of Cairo, Landyn and Peyton Meredith of Cairo, and A.J. Poole of Cairo; brother, Wyche Poole of North Carolina; sister, Susan Hicks of Powell, Tenn.; brothers-in-law, Tommy Barrineau of Cairo, Charles Barrineau of Lake Eufaula, Ala., and Jack Barrineau of Argyle, Tex.; sisters-in-law, Janice Baty of Attapulgus. Memorials may be make in memory of Poole to Tabernacle Baptist Church Building Fund, 3224 Highway 84 E. Cairo, Ga., 39828.
