Norman Higdon Jr.

THOMASVILLE — Services for Norman Higdon Jr., St. Stephens Community, Whigham, are at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at St. Clair Primitive Baptist Church in Cairo. Elder Jimmy Simmons will officiate and interment is in Walden Cemetery in Whigham. Pallbearers are DeMonta Higdon, Cameron Wade, Marcus Wade, Bryant Dawson, Fontabian Donalson, Jasman Flowers, Da’Keidras Wade and Wesley Higdon Jr. Honorary pallbearers are deacons of Primitive Baptist Church Association. Mr. Higdon died Dec. 29 at his residence. Born April 3, 1935, in Whigham, he was the son of Norman and Rosa Higdon Sr. He was married to Mandy Jackson. He was a member of St. Clair Primitive Baptist Church in Cairo and attended Grady County Public Schools. Survivors include his wife, Mandy Higdon  of Whigham; daughters, Virginia (Mathis) Williams of Tampa, Fla., Diane (Larry) Wade of Whigham, Beverly (Vickey) Flowers of Climax, Lisa (Jerome) Wade of Climax; son, Wesley (Annette) Higdon  of Cairo; son-in-law, Charles Wade of Climax; sister, Regina Anders of West Palm Beach, Fla.; sister-in-law, Althea Higdon of Queens, N.Y.; god-daughters, Doris “Dot” Corker, Sandra Addison both of Cairo; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by two children, Reanea Wade and Tyrone Higdon. — Cloud Funeral Home
