Lucille Tillman Monroe


THOMASVILLE — Funeral service for Lucille Tillman Monroe, 69, of Tampa, FL, formerly of Thomasville will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Aucilla M.B. Church.  Rev. Lonnie Robinson will officiate services with interment to follow at Aucilla Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Charlie Donaldson, Jimmy Tillman, Wesley Bryant and Charlie Wilson all of Thomasville.  Mrs. Tillman was born on March 19, 1944 in Thomasville to the late John Tillman and Allie Mae Tillman.  She was a graduate of Douglass High School and during her life she worked as a Supervisor at Singleton Shrimp Company.  On October 23, 1962 Ms. Lucille Tillman wed Mr. Larry Monroe, Sr. in Thomasville and their union continued until the time of her passing.  Mrs. Monroe was a resident of Thomasville for 51 years and she departed this life on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Tampa General Hospital in Tampa, FL.  She is survived by her loving husband, Larry Monroe, Sr. and their four children, Larry Monroe, Jr. (Lisa), Marilyn Monroe, Janice Gay (Johnny) and Patricia Monroe (Melvin) all of Tampa, FL.  She is also survived by her mother, Allie Mae Tillman, four sisters, Annie Mae Jones (James), Jannie Tillman, Barbara Tillman, and Corrine (Donaldson) Charlie all of Thomasville.  Other survivors include two brothers, James Tillman of Newark, NJ and Allen Tillman of Thomasville.  as well as five grandchildren, Antonio Cobbert, Jr., Dejane Gay, Lakisha Monroe, Alexandria Gay and Ebony Bradley, and one great-grandchild Charles Bryant III all of Tampa, FL.  Also a favorite aunt, Majorie Mullins of Thomasville.  Other survivors include a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  She was preceded in death by four sisters, Georgia Mae Davis, Loretha Paytee, Thelma Childs, Arlene Williams, and five brothers Hayward Tillman, Johnny Tillman, Frank Tillman, Spote Tillman and Wallce “Bo” Tillman.  Visitation will be on Friday, January 24, 2014 at the funeral home. — Hatcher-Peoples Funeral Home
