Graveside services for Joe “GI” Palmer, 76, of Ochlocknee will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Little Ochlocknee Baptist Church Cemetery.  Rev. Johnny Cooper will officiate services.  Mr Palmer was born on December 24, 1935 in Thomasville to the late Willie Lester Palmer and Rena Adele McGarrah.  He worked during his life as a self-employed Sheet Metal Mechanic for HVAC systems.  Mr. Palmer would also marry Ms. Betty Parker Palmer of Ochlocknee on December 23, 1965.  He was of the Baptist faith and Mr. Palmer departed this life on Thursday, November 22, 2012 at his home.  Survivors the cherish his memory include his sons Timothy Joe Palmer and Teddy Mark Palmer both of Ochlocknee; daughter Tammie Palmer Blackburn (Jody) of Moultrie; granddaughter Chelsea Palmer Phelps (James) of Thomasville; Tyler Austin Palmer and Nicholas Joe Palmer both of Ochlocknee; granddaughter Kirsten Leigh Blackburn of Moultrie; great-grandsons Dawson Reed Phelps and Mason Bennett Phelps both of Thomasville; brother Curtis “Bubba” Palmer of Valdosta; sisters Ann Gunter (Jimmy) of Thomasville and Jimmie Peeples (Ernest) of Zephyr Hills, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by:  parents, two sisters, Lynette Daniels, Myrtle Palmer, three brothers, Henry Palmer, C. D.
