Services for Cora Mammie “Mae” Bass are at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec.1, 2012 at Healing Temple Church. Elder Ira Rhodes and Pastor Rev. T.C. Mitchell are eulogists. Ms. Bass was born on July 10, 1921 in Grady County to the late Thomas Edward and Ida Mae Glynn.  God called her home on Friday, Nov. 23, at her home in Metcalfe. Laney as she was known by her nieces and nephews accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Metcalfe where her and her sisters singing group song praises to God. She also served on the Usher Board. Mue (as she was called by her grandchildren) was joined in Holy Matrimony to the Rev. W G Bass of Macon to this union she was blessed with three beautiful children. She worked at G.W. Carter School for 25 years until she retired. Mue was a member of the Order of Eastern Star’s Lily of the Valley Chapter, Macon. In 1999, she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, but that did not disrupt her faith in God. She was well taken care of by her daughter Sherry Howard and grandchildren until her death. She leaves to cherish and mourn two beautiful daughters, Sherry Howard of Thomasville, Wilma Elaine Sellers (Larry) of Macon; eight grandchildren, Djanaha Cole (Maurice), Adrianne Howard, Willie Howard Jr., Akilah Howard all of Thomasville, Draymond, Maurice, Larry Sellers Jr. all of Macon; 10 great-grandchildren; a devoted and special great-neice, Meltonia Clark of Thomasville, Joyce Williams of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; a devoted god son J W Bodiford of Cairo; goddaughter, Tameka Nichols of Atlanta; god-granddaughter, Katina Samuel of Thomasville; special neice, Baby Lois Little (Wayne) of Ocala, Fla.; god-daughter, Roberta Emanuel of Thomasville; special nephews, Thomas Andrews, Eddie James Buchanan, of Thomasville and Samuel Buchanan of Atlanta. All of her siblings; son, Warren G Bass Jr.; and son-in-law Willie Howard Sr. proceeded her in death. The wiewing is noon to 8 p.m., today. The family and friends processional will be at 1 p.m. from the residence of 1082 Norias Rd., Metcalf. — Hopkins Mortuary
