Tommy L. (Sonny) Baker III

Services for Tommy L. (Sonny) Baker III, 50, Thomasville, are at 1 p.m., Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at New Jerusalem M.B. Church. The Rev. Donald Walker, pastor and officiating, and interment is in Peaceful Rest Cemetery. Pallbearers are Aaron Roan, Danny Robinson, Paul Clark, Gregory Harris and members of the 1981 class of Thomasville High School. Mr. Baker died April 13 at his residence. Born Oct. 14, 1963, in Thomasville, Ga., he was the son of Tommy L. Baker Jr. and Evernease Golden Baker. He was a 1981 graduate of Thomasville High School. Survivors include mother, Evernease Golden Baker of Thomasville; father, Tommy L. Baker Jr. of Thomasville; brothers, Christopher D. Baker of Jacksonville, Fla., Dewayne Jackson Sr. of Atlanta; sisters, Kaija Sinkfield of Thomasville, Melissa Thompson of Tallahassee, Fla.; godsisters, Gussie Young, Sherry Williams both of Thomasville; aunt, Willie Pearl Shannon of Thomasville; uncle, Robert Golden of Thomasville; and numerous other cousins, neighbors and sorrowing friends; and a devoted family friend, Mary Coleman of Thomasville. The viewing is noon to 8 p.m., Monday at the funeral home and from noon until the funeral hour at the church on Tuesday with no viewing after the eulogy. The family will receive their friends after the services at the Frank Dean Martin Educational Complex. Relatives and friends are asked to meet at noon on Tuesday at 1823 Fletcher St. for the processional. — Grooms Funeral Home
