Willie James Williams Sr.

THOMASVILLE — Services for  Willie James Williams Sr. are at noon, Saturday, July 19, 2014, at Shiloh M.B. Church. Pastor Curnell Henry, eulogist. Interment is in Oak Grove Cemetery. Mr. Williams was born Oct. 21, 1933 in Boston, Ga., to the late Willie and Martha Williams. He moved to Metcalf, Ga., at an early age, and later moved to Thomasville, Ga. He worked for Georgia Crate and Basket Company for 50 years and later worked for Southwestern State Hospital. He was married to Willie Pearl Williams. To this union, 10 kids were born, Edward Williams (Barbara Jean) Vero Beach, Fla., Leon Williams Sr. Thomasville, Willie James Williams Jr. Thomasville, Danny Williams Thomasville, Tommy Davis (Adele) Charleston, S.C., Roderick Davis (Deborah) Tallahassee, Fla., Arthur Graham (Karen) Thomasville, Ilean Williams Thomasville, JoAnn Williams Foster Thomasville, Sharon Williams Franklin Thomasville; a brother, Albert Williams Vero Beach, Fla.; two aunts Alice Thurblood Dade City, Fla., Louise White Dade City, Fla.; one brother-in-law, Bobby Davis (Lynn) Thomasville; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grand; special niece, Julia Ross ( Bernard) Thomasville, Godson Morris Wilson; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by mother and father, Willie Williams and Martha Williams, sisters, Emma Lee Williams, Mary Lee Bullard and brothers Joe Lewis Williams and Homer Williams. Public viewing is today from noon to 8 p.m. — Hopkins Mortuary
