Jane Denise Baker Walker

THOMASVILLE — Funeral services for Jane Denise Baker Walker will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at St. Clair Primitive Baptist Church, Cairo.  Elder Jimmy Simmons and Rev. Roosevelt Woods will officiate services with interment to follow at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Whigham.  Pallbearers will be Clifford Powell, Otis Powell, Jr., Geovani Anderson, Tony Barker and Lucious McNair and Marcus Smiley.  Mrs. Walker was born on November 24, 1959 to the late Clifford and Estella Hines Baker.  She was a graduate of Cairo High School Class of 1976 and a member of Beautiful Light Baptist Church.  Mrs. Baker as she was known before marriage, wed Mr. Lannis Walker.  Mrs. Walker was a lifelong resident of Cairo and she departed this life on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Grady General Hospital in Cairo.  Survivors to cherish her memory include her husband Lannis Walker of Atlanta; sisters Ethel McLeod (Charles) of Cairo, WIllie Mae Woods (James) of Pensacola, FL and Vernita Willis (Curtis) of Cairo; brothers David Williams (Lillian) of Brooklyn, NY and Frank Williams (Isoline) of Cairo; aunts Ernestine Hines of Tucson, AZ and Romell Hines of Charlotte, NC; god child Anatole E. Cloud, Sr. of Cairo; brother-in-law Johnny Walker, Jr.; sisters-in-law Odessa Rutledge of Syracuse, NY and Mariah S. Hubbard of Cairo; special friend Romidel Cooper of Cairo; adoptive mother Lee Ethel Cooper of Cairo; adoptive sisters Jennifer Mainville (Gilbert) of Clinton, MD, Shirley Jolly (Nathaniel), Brenda Copeland (Claxton), Methel Cooper and Viola Cooper (Will Shazer) all of Cairo; adoptive brother Richard Cooper of Cairo and Andrew Cooper (Doris) of Thomasville; special classmate Shaneatha McNair of Whigham; special adopted sister Grace Weaker of Cairo and a host of other relatives and friends. — Cloud Funeral Home
