Doris Nixon King

Services for Doris Nixon King, 70, of Thomasville will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at Mount Zion Primitive Baptist Church, where she was a member. Elder Jimmy Simmons, Pastor at Mt. Zion Baptist P.B. Church will officiate with internment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Thomasville. Active pallbearers will be the Douglass High School Class of 1964. King was born on September 21, 1943, in Ochlocknee to the late Daisy and Hayward Nixon. She graduated from Douglass High School in 1964 and attended Walton Vocational Technical School. King received a certificate in Cosmetology. She married Henry L. King and relocated to Hartford, Conn. Survivors include brother, Ernest Nixon of Thomasville; sister, Nikkie Fishback of Los Angeles, Ca.; and other family and friends. Visitation will be on Monday, January 20, 2014, from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The remains will lie instate from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral hour on Tuesday at the church. The family will meet at Cove Landing Apt. 1003 at 10 a.m. — Hatcher-Peoples Funeral Home
