Michael Fred Brown

THOMASVILLE — Michael Fred Brown, son of Fred T. and Nell M. Brown, died unexpectedly Sunday, February 9, 2014 at their home in Coolidge.  Born February 15, 1960, 53 years old, Mike was an avid fisherman when he was younger, but later in life  turned to the Thomasville Amateur Radio Club where he was elected President of the Club for 20 years as well as serving in the state as Georgia Section Manager.  He worked at the computer numerous hours to make his Club the best for the members and their families.  He was the organist at Big Creek Baptist Church accompanied by his mother who was the church pianist for 21 years or more.  He was a Broadcast Engineer that served TV stations in Tallahassee.  Visitation will be Thursday, February 13, 2014 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Whiddon-Shiver Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm at Big Creek Baptist Church, Friday, February 14, 2014.  Officiating will be done by Rev. Al Wilbourn, Rev. Dewitt Rehberg and Rev. Charles Nealy.  Pallbearers will be Laverne Brown, Lamar Brown, Todd Murphy, Kirk Murphy, John Swicord, and Roger Strickland.  Honorary Pallbearers will be the members of the Thomasville Amateur Radio Club.  He is preceded in death by his father, Fred T. Brown, his grandmother Annie Murphy and grandfather, Gus Murphy.  He is survived by his mother, Nell Murphy Brown, and a special cousin, Leann Doering.  www.whiddonshiverfuneralhome.com — Whiddon-Shiver Funeral Home
