Daniel (Smack) Flounoy

— One of God’s soldiers was called Home to Glory on Saturday, February 8, 2014.  He was loved and appreciated by all who knew him.  Mr. Daniel Flounoy was born in Pavo, Georgia to the late Mr. Joe Sr. and Marih Flounoy on August 1, 1939.  He was a loving father, brother and uncle.  He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and three brothers.  He leaves to cherish his memories; one son, Daniel (Veronica) Flounly, Ft. Bliss, TX; three daughters, Vanessa Flounoy, Pavo, GA, Debra Bennett, Miami, FL, Kimberly (Anthony) Smart, Columbus, GA; three grandchildren, Melvin Cason, Valdosta, GA, Brittany Smart, Columbus, GA, Lakia Flounoy, Brownsmills, NJ; two sisters, Sandra Flounoy, Pavo, GA and Faye Flounoy, Opa Locka, FL; one aunt, Sadie M. Farmer, Wilson, NC; one special niece, Lavvonda Jackson, Pavo, GA; a special and devoted friend, Rosa L. Brooks, Miami, FL; one sister-in-law, Emily Flounoy, Pavo, GA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the St. James C.M.E. Church in Pavo, Georgia with Rev. Willie Wade, Pastor presiding and Rev. Ellis C.
