C.W. Sims


THOMASVILLE — Funeral services for C. W. Sims of Bainbridge will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at St. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, Calvary.  Rev. C. J. Henry will officiate services with interment to follow at Crestview Cemetery in Cairo.  Pallbearers will be Henry Brown, Jr., Alvin Brown, Jr., Hildred J. Perkins, Gary Perkins, Michael Brown and Deirico Perkins.  Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of St. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.  Mr. Sims was born on April 25, 1925 in Whigham to the late Mrs. Charlie M. Sims and Andrew Harris.  He was a member of St. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church and attended Grady Co. schools. He married Mrs. Carrie Sims and later married Ms. Mary Lee Perkins Smith.  During his life Mr. Sims worked as a Truck Driver.  He departed this life on Friday, February 14, 2014 at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville.  Survivors to cherish his memory include his daughters Ammorette Brown (Henry) of Jacksonville, FL, Betty Dukes (Ricky) of Sanford, FL, Deloris Anderson (Michael) of Warren, OH, Evelyn Perkins and Doris Perkins both of Bainbridge, Sandra Toomes (George) of Tallahassee, FL and Hurk Johnson (Charles) of Attapulgus; sons Jim Perkins (Jessica) and Gary Perkins (Dorothy) all of Bainbridge, Elroy Perkins (Evelyn) of Havana, FL and Leroy Perkins (Elaine) of Dothan, AL; sisters Jacqueline Hill (Robert) of Cairo, Zena Hardwick and Willie M. Dillard both of Albany, Aubrey Shannon of Miami, FL; brothers Albert Lee (Mary) of Fort Pierce, FL, Andrew Harris (Christine) of Albany, and Benjamin Harris (Barbara) of Warner Robins, GA; uncle Manor Sims of Detroit, MI; aunt Eva Thomas; friend Annie P. Jones; 22 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. — Cloud Funeral Home
