Vera Louise Howell NeSmith

— Graveside services for Vera Louise Howell NeSmith were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 15, 2013 at the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.  Waymon Dekle officiated services.  Mrs. NeSmith was born on May 7, 1913 in Pavo to the late James Fulton Howell, Sr. and Edna Joiner Howell.  Mrs. NeSmith was a member of Barwick Baptist Church.  On September 22, 1934 she wed Mr. John Barrow NeSmith in Thomas County and their union continued until the time of his passing on July 5, 1967.  During her life Mrs. NeSmith, with her husband, owned and operated several grocery stores.  She departed this life on Friday, December 13, 2013 at Camellia Gardens of Life Care.  Survivors to cherish her memory include her children Edna Jean NeSmith  and John Larry NeSmith of Thomasville; Athley Ruth Clay (Henry) of Coolidge and Sharyn N. Sherman (David) of Greenville, SC; grandchildren Alanna Suber (Michael), Michel Turner (Billy) and Hollie Vollmar (Tom); great-grandchildren Natalie Burton (Frank), Jessica Suber, Kaitlyn Sellers (Clay), Eli Vollmar, Kyle Vollmar, Noah Vollmar, Kailey Turner and Clay Turner.  She was preceded in death by her brothers Palmer Howell and J.F.
