Luvenia Burney Futch

THOMASVILLE — Funeral services for Luvenia Burney Futch, 77, of Thomasville will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church.  Elder Ronnie Fields, Pastor and Elder Dr. F. R. Rush officiating services with interment to follow at Peaceful Rest Cemetery.  Mrs. Futch was born on March 17, 1936 in Thomas Co. to the late Sam and Gertrude Burney of Thomasville.  She was a graduate of Douglass High School and went on to have a 27 year career at Archbold Memorial Hospital Food Services until her retirement.  Mrs. Burney, as she was known before marriage, wed Mr. Herbert L. Futch, Sr. in Thomas Co. and their union continued on 50 years until the time of her passing.  Mrs. Futch was a member of Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church where she served on the Senior Choir as the financial secretary and was Mother of the Church.  She was also a member of the Block C Community Club.  Mrs. Futch was a resident of Thomasville for 77 years and she departed this life on Friday, December 20, 2013.  Survivors to cherish her memory include husband Herbert Lee Futch, Sr.; sons Ronald Futch (Sherry) of Tacoma, WA and Herbert Lee Futch, Jr. (Trishun) of Hinesville;  daughter Lashunda Rauls (Quention) of Thomasville; sister-in-law Mary Burney of Thomasville; grandson Michael Futch of Atlanta; granddaughter LaQuanda Billingslea (Kelvin) of Byron; grandson Jacoby Futch of LaGrange; granddaughter Makaya Robinson-Futch of Tacoma, WA; grandsons Tyler Futch and Rylan Futch both of Tacoma, WA, Demariyon Futch of Thomasville, Rashaud Futch of Savannah, Trivon Williams (Candice) of Columbus; granddaughters Brianna Perkins of Thomasville and Aleecia Futch of Hinesville; grandsons D’Andre Futch and Quention Rauls, Jr. both of Thomasville; great-grandsons Zy’Trevion Berry and Kaden Futch both of LaGrange; great-granddaughter Tamia Williams of Columbus and a host of nieces and nephews; special friend Michael Clark of Thomasville.  Visitation will be held on Friday, December 27, 2013 from 12 Noon until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  There will be a family hour Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  The remains will lie instate on Saturday, December 28, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at the church. — Hatcher-Peoples Funeral Home
