Edward Wilfred “Ed” Baillargeon Jr.


THOMASVILLE — Services with military honors for Edward Wilfred “Ed” Baillargeon Jr., 75, of Moultrie are at 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014 at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Robert Tilson officiating. Mr. Baillargeon died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014 at Colquitt Regional Medical Center. Born June 28, 1938 in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was the son of the late Edward Wilfred Baillargeon Sr. and Mildred Marie Kirtley Baillargeon.  He was a U.S. Navy veteran and was a retired electrician.  He was of the Baptist faith.  “In later years, Ed accepted Christ in his life and was able to repair and build loving relationships that will be forever cherished with family and friends”, his family remembered.  He was a ham radio operator, enjoyed remote control airplanes, was an avid gun collector and loved to go fishing. Survivors include three daughters, Sandra Baillargeon of Demorest, Ga., Kathy Royal of Thomasville, Linda Baillargeon of Moultrie; three sons, Edward W. Baillargeon III of Thomasville, David Baillargeon of Moultrie, William Baillargeon and wife Cherish of Ochclocknee;  one step-son, Michael Hall and wife Tiffany of Pelham; one brother, Charles Baillargeon and wife Karen of Eldersburg, Md.; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Nathan Baillargeon; and one great-granddaughter, Brianna Marie Daniels. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, January 4, 2014 at the funeral chapel in Moultrie. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. — Cobb Funeral Chapel
