Rosa Annette Tonkin, 78, of Chassahowitzka, Fla., passed away Dec. 11, 2012; born Rosa Annette Smith on June 4, 1934, in Atlanta, Ga.  She was preceded in death by her father, Charles A. Smith; her mother, Annie Kate Brimberry; and her brother, Charles Smith. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, John C. Tonkin; sons, John Tonkin and his wife, Luz, of Miami, Fla., William Tonkin and his wife, MaryLou, of Ochlocknee, Ga., David Tonkin of Sitka, Alaska, and Russell Tonkin and his wife, Karen, of Canton, Mo.; grandchildren, Abby, Cole and his wife, Haley, David and his wife, Samantha, Kayla, Cameron and his wife, Tristain, Amanda, Matthew, Katie-lynn and Hannah; great-grandchildren, Liah, Adaira, Ryleigh, Adalyn, Brantley, Luke and Sebastian; her brother, Larry Smith and his wife, Judy, of Snellville, Ga.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She traveled extensively with her husband while he served in the U.S. Coast Guard and lived in Thomasville, Ga.; St. Petersburg, Fla.; Hawaii; Elizabeth City, N.C.; Puerto Rico; Corpus Christi, Texas; Annette Island, Alaska; St. Petersburg, Fla.; Kodiak, Alaska; and back to Thomasville, Ga., before settling in Chassahowitzka. One of her favorite places to live was in Alaska, where she enjoyed camping fishing and being with her family. People might remember Ann as the owner of the Pine Knot Gun Shop in Howard's Flea Market.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that anyone wanting to make donations to Hospice of the Citrus County. — Wilder Funeral Home
