Carolyn E. Fortner

THOMASVILLE — Funeral services for Carolyn E. Fortner of Cairo will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2013at Mt. Calvary M.B. Church.  Rev. Alexander Mack, Pastor, Bishop Ruben Addison officiating services with interment to follow at Crestview Cemetery, Cairo.  Pallbearers will be Cody Stinson, Shun Jackson, Garrick Lockhart, Freddie Daniels, George James and Travis Richardson.  Mrs. Fortner was born in Cairo to the late Ellen and Dempsey Echols.  She attended Grady County Schools and was a member of Friendship House of Prayer.  Mrs. Fortner departed this life on Friday, September 20, 2013 at her home.  Survivors to cherish her memory include her husband John (Sam) Fortner of Cairo; sons Darryl Edwards (Pamela) of Bainbridge and Gary Lockhart of Cairo; ten grandchildren, two which she raised as her own, Sharonda Curley and Christopher Lockhart; fifteen great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. — Weston’s Funeral Home
