THOMASVILLE — Funeral services for Larry Thomas Tuten, 72, of Ochlocknee will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 25, 2013 at the Whiddon-Shiver Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Lee Waller will officiate services with interment to follow at Bold Springs Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Wilbur Jones, Randy Booker, Burt Goff, Andy Ponder, Andy Stewart and Jay Cooksey.  Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Thomasville Exchange Club.  Mr. Tuten was born on July 5, 1941 in Grady Co. to the late Lonnie Tuten and Ruth Burt Tuten.  Mr. Tuten served in the United States Air Force before going on to earn his Associates Degree in Civil Engineering at South Polytechnic State University.  On June 18, 1961 Mr. Tuten wed Mrs. Faye Pendergast Tuten and their union would continue on until the time of his passing.  Mr. Tuten was the Owner/Operator of Thermal Equipment Company, which began in 1976 as a partnership.  He enjoyed farming and spending time with his grandchildren.  He was a former member of the Jaycees and past president and member of the Thomasville Exchange Club.  Mr. Tuten was of the Baptist faith and he departed this life on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Archbold Memorial Hospital.  Survivors to cherish his memory include his wife Faye P. Tuten of Ochlocknee; daughters Cindi Alderdice (James Kim) of Adairsville, Lynn Cochran (Greg) of Tallahassee, FL and Becky Clanton of Destin, FL; grandchildren Elizabeth Presley Cochran, Camille Grace Cochran and Hanah Jewel Alderdice; sister Elaine Kierce of Winter Haven, FL; brother Lannis Tuten of Sylvester; sister Betty Whitston of Cotton and a number of nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his sisters Frances Garner and Sara Culpepper.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2013 at Whiddon-Shiver Funeral Home.  Sign the Register book online at — Whiddon-Shiver Funeral Home
