Joe Douglas White Sr.

THOMASVILLE — Services for Joe Douglas White Sr., of Cairo, are at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Greater New Corinth M.B. Church where he was a member. The Rev. Morris Evans pastor and the Rev. E. Matthew Faulk will officiate and interment is in Crestview Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers are friends  of the family. Mr. White died Feb. 25 at Grady General Hospital. Born in Grady County, he was the son of the late Amanda L. and Oscar White. He is a 1963 graduate of Washington Consolidated High School and in 1964 enlisted in the U.S. Army. Survivors include a daughter, Tamie T. Pate; sons, Joe Douglas White Jr. (Stephanie), Gregory Thompson; daughter, Phan Nichole White Edmond (Jay);  grandchildren, Maycala, Keldrick, Keyanna, Patrice, Paige, Miles, Jade; and numerous family members and friends. — Weston’s Funeral Home
