Isler Durrell Golden

THOMASVILLE — Graveside services for Isler Durrell Golden, 84, of Thomasville are at 3 p.m., Friday, April 25, 2014 at Laurel Hill Cemetery. The Rev. David Cook will officiate. Pallbearers are member of  Thomasville City Fire Department. Grandsons and nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.  Mr. Golden passed away April 23. Born April 28, 1929, in Thomasville, he was the son of the late Richard Lee Golden and Florence Lastinger Golden. On February 11, 1951, at Dawson Street Baptist Church, he married Gladys Mae Hogan Golden who preceded him in death. He was a retired fire chief for Thomasville City Fire Department, was a member of Dawson Street Baptist Church and a member of Thomasville Exchange Club. He is survived by his children, Rodney Durrell Golden of Adel, Margaret and husband Dan Stone and Richard Keith Golden all of Thomasville; grandchildren, Richard Stone, Michael and Erin Stone, Kaitlyn Stone, and Rodney Golden; one great-grandchild, Jacob Stone; sister, Jeanelda Golden McLaughin of Texas. Other than his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Elizabeth Diane Golden; brothers, Alvin Golden, Willie Green Golden, Kenneth Golden and sister, Edna Golden Smith. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m., at the funeral home before the service. Guests are invited to sign the online register at — Allen & Allen Funeral Home
