Mable Lee Hughes Gainous


THOMASVILLE — Graveside services for Mable Lee Hughes Gainous, 92, of Thomasville are 10 a.m., Friday, April 25, 2014 at Laurel Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Hugh Rockett will officiate. Ms. Gainous passed away April 22, at Camellia Gardens. Born Jan. 26, 1922 in Monticello Fla., she was the daughter of the late Como Lee Hughes and Gracie Ward Hughes. She was married to Herman Gainous who preceded her in death. She is survived by her children, Jackie Holtzclaw (Steven) of Thomasville, Opal Harding of Lanett, Ala., Albert Jarrell Jr. (Ann) of Thomasville and Michael Jarrell (Sandy) of Cairo; grandchildren, Sherry Singletary (Sammy) of Whigham, Franklin Albert Hudson of Cairo, Kenneth Robert Hudson of Thomasville, Charles Harding of Thomasville, Sharon Parker (Mickey) of Ochlocknee, Kelly Barber (Jack) of Cantala; nephew, Russell Hughes (Happie) of Monticello, Fla.; lots of great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by son, James Edward Jarrell; brother, James “Red” Redding Hughes; and sister, Grace Lee Hughes.  The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
