Joyce E. Smith Jones

THOMASVILLE — Services for Joyce E. Smith Jones are at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 26, 2014, at Saints Temple COGIC, Thomasville where she was a member. Pastor Carol Pettis will  officiate and interment is in Peaceful Rest Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Thomasville High School Class of 1975. Mrs. Jones died April 18 in San Antonio, Texas. Born in Thomasville, she was the daughter of the late Deacon J.D. and Sister Fannie Parks Smith. She was married to the late Jerry Jones Sr. Survivors include daughters, Topreka Jones-Black (Lynn Jr.) of Tallahassee, Fla., Jereia Scott (Kevin) of San Antonio, Texas; son, Jerry Jones Jr. of Tallahassee, Fla.; grandchildren, Lynn III, J’Lin, Taelyn, Corey, Troy, Jordan, Demarion, Jaquavius; brother, Willie James Smith of Thomasville; sisters, Rutha Williams (Willie) of Cairo, Thelma Gilliam (Lee) of Tallahassee; brother, Thurman Smith of Tallahassee; sisters, Josie Smith, Essie Mae Smith all of Tallahassee, Almita Betterson (James) of Miami, Fla.; three aunts, Eula Diggs, Ruthie Casey, Corine Lurry all of Thomasville; uncle, Jack Parks (Annette) of Greenville, Ga.; two great-aunts, Elizabeth Ellis, Mary Jordan both of Atlanta; a special friend, Patrick Bradham and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. — Weston’s Funeral Home
