Ruth Elizabeth Clark



Services for Ruth Elizabeth Clark, 67, of Monticello, FL will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at New Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church.  Rev. Dr. James Redmon, Pastor and officiating services with interment to follow at the New Oak Grove Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Donald Tillman, Paul Clark, Morris McCaskill, Adam Cooney, Theusus Gilbert and Darrell Clark.  Ms. Clark was born on June 24, 1945 in Boston to the late Hansell and Johnnie Pearl Clark.  She was a member of New Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church.  Ms. Clark was a graduate of Magnolia High School Class of 1963 and of the Walton Vocational School with a degree in Business Education and Bookkeeping in Class of 1965.  After completing her education Ms. Clark moved to Monticello, FL to work as a Bookkeeper for the Jefferson County, FL School System.  Ms. Clark departed this life on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 in Tallahassee, FL.  Survivors to cherish her memory include brothers Robert Clark (Doretha) of Batavia, IL, David Clark (Lucille) of Boston, Mack Clark of Tallahassee, FL and Horace Clark (Sonya) of Newnam; sisters Josephine Tillman of Thomasville and Helen Johnson (Robert) of Albany; aunt Lillie Mae Clark of Thomasville; sisters-in-law Ruby Clark of Miami, FL and Angela Clark of Thomasville; brother-in-law Solomon Cooney of Boston; devoted caregiver Lillie Odom of Monticello, FL; friend/sister Dr. Lettie White of Monticello, FL; devoted friend Martha Hall of Monticello, FL and a host of nephews, nieces, extended family members and devoted family.  She also leaves behind the members of New Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, co-workers, and friends on the Jefferson County School Board.  She was preceded in death by her loving and caring parents Hansell and Johnnie Pearl Clark; brothers James Clark, Curvey Clark, Hansell Clark, Jr. and Thomas Clark; sisters Betty Clark and Maggie Cooney.  Visitation will be on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  The remains will instate on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral hour. — Hatcher-Peoples Funeral Home
