Walter Thompson


Services for Walter Thompson, 59, 254 S. College St., are at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Charlie Dunbar III, eulogist, officiating. Mr. Thompson died Sunday, June 1, 2014, at Archbold Memorial Hospital. A lifelong Thomasville resident, he was a caregiver. He was born in Thomasville on June 13, 1954, a son of the late Sam and Corona Thompson. He was a graduate of Thomasville High School. Mr. Thompson is survived by brothers, Earl Thompson (Darlene), Larry Thompson (Doris), Pastor Terry Scott (Veronica), the Rev. Marvin Thompson, Sam Thompson Jr. (Linda), all of Thomasville; favorite niece, Teresa Holland; 27 nieces and nephews; 45 great-nieces and -nephews; favorite nephews, Donalvin Thompson, Sharron Thompson, Morris Thompson, all of Thomasville; favorite niece, Ashley Thompson, Thomasville; favorite cousin, Blancey Vickers, Thomasville; best friend, Doris Thompson, Thomasville; favorite niece, Sheneka Thompson, Thomasville; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Public viewing is Friday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour. — Hatcher-Peoples Funeral Home
