Doyle Stewart

Services for Doyle Stewart, 74, of Thomasville will be Monday, March 31, 2014, at the Whiddon-Shiver Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Johnny Cooper will be officiating. Active pallbearers will be Bradley Morales, Mike Beasley, Chandler Stewart, Michael Keown, Omar Morales, Jr., Palmer Parrott. Internment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Stewart was born September 21, 1939, in Coolidge to the late Johnny Luther and Amy Caroline Stewart. He married Linda Stewart on January 2, 1993, at Merriville Baptist Church. Stewart was retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years, then worked with Thomasville Sales (FORD) as a parts department salesman. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and a veteran of the U.S. Navy in Vietnam, serving as a First Class Petty Officer Aviation Electrician. Stewart was also a member at Pineland Baptist Church. Later in life, his caretaker was Cherelene McNeil. Stewart passed away on Friday, March 28, 2014, at his residence. Survivors include his wife, Linda Stewart of Thomasville; daughter, Julie Morales (Omar) of Thomasville; step-daughter, Lou Anne Ray of Plano, Tx.; granddaughter, Melanie Morales of Thomasville; grandson, Bradley Morales of Thomasville; sister, Carol Beasley of Thomasville; two brothers, Andy Stewart (Linda) and Larry Stewart (Charlie), both of Thomasville; nephew, Mike Beasley of Thomasville and Chandler Stewart of Valdosta; nieces, Angela Parrott of Fitzgerald, Keumele Keown of Clayton, Debbie Stewart of Perry and Sharon Wright of Canada. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 30, 2014, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Guests may sign the online register at — Whiddon-Shiver Funeral Home
