Norris Calvin Butler

— Services for Norris Calvin Butler of Ochlocknee are at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at Little Ochlocknee Baptist Church. The Rev. Johnny Cooper, the Rev. Charles Neely and the Rev. Gene Brock will officiate and interment is in Little Ochlocknee Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers are nephews Sonny Butler, Marty Butler, Rick Butler, Russ Butler, Randall Butler and Kevin Butler. Mr. Butler died July 11 at Archbold Medical Center. Born Nov. 30, 1931, Cairo, Ga., he was a son of the late Calvin Quin Butler and Eva Rehberg Butler. On Feb. 13, 1955, in Ochlocknee, Ga., he married Laverne McGarrah Butler, who survives, of Ochlocknee. He served in the United States Army, member of American Legion and was an exterminator for Orkin Pest Control. Other survivors include brothers, Judson Butler of Metcalfe, Butch Butler of Metcalfe, Claude Butler (Pat) of Quitman; sisters, Marion Parrish of Albany, Gwen Butler (Lamar) of Cairo; brothers-in-law, Billy McGarrah (Geneva) of Ochlocknee, Buddy McGarrah (Jean) of Ochlocknee; sister-in-law, Jean Butler of Metcalfe; and special friend, Phillip Powell. He was preceded in death by brothers, Julian O. Butler, Leon Butler; and a sister, Frances Thomas. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., today  at the funeral home.
