Lonnie B. Lewis

Graveside services for Lonnie B. Lewis, 77, of Greenville, S.C., are at 3 p.m., Friday, Jan. 15, 2010, at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery. Mr. Lewis died Thursday, Jan. 14 at Richard Campbell Veterans Nursing Home. Born in Cook County, Ga., he was the son of the late Lonnie and Sybil Chapman Lewis. He was married to Betty Hiers Lewis. Mr. Lewis was retired from CSX Railroad and was a member of First Baptist Church of Thomasville, Ga. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Lewis was a good husband, father, son and brother. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three sons, Lonnie Lewis and wife, Corky, Kenneth Lewis and wife, Cindy, Philip Lewis and wife, Lisa; and grandchildren, Carolynn Dorsey, Meagan, Katie Beth, Philip, Jeffrey, Karoline, Kelby and Tyler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Benjamin Haywood Lewis; and a sister, Mildred Lewis. The family will be at their respective homes.
