William Jerry Bentley Sr.

Services for William Jerry Bentley Sr., 67, of Cairo, will be held at 3 p.m., on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at Hilltop Bible Baptist Church, Cairo. Pastor Glen Scoggin and the Rev. Max Crapps will officiate.  Interment will be at Pine Level Church Annex Cemetery, Cairo. Mr. Bentley passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital, Thomasville, on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012. Active pallbearers will be Terry West, Tim Peacoe, Ricky McDowell, Herman Sanders, Bruce Elliot and Paul Rehberg. Jerry was born on July 29, 1945, in Cairo to the late William Coy and Daisy Barwick Bentley. On Feb. 15, 1964, he married Dorothy Ann Hartley Bentley, who survives. He worked in maintenance for Balfour Lumber Co. and worshiped at Hilltop Bible Baptist Church. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, racing cars and working on anything with an engine. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and showing his love to his children and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Ann Bentley, Cairo; sons and daughters-in-law, Jay and Christy Bentley, Cairo, Larry and Kim Bentley, Cairo; grandchildren, Dustin Bentley, Brooke Bentley, Trey Bentley, Timmy Bentley, all of Cairo; great-grandchild, Hadly Bentley, Cairo; and sister and brother-in-law, Lizzie and Myrle Rogers, Cairo. Memorials may be given to Hilltop Bible Baptist Church Missions Fund, 110 17th Ave. N.W., Cairo, Ga. 39827. The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, on Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, from 6 until 8 p.m. Guests may sign the online register at www.clarkfuneral.com. — Clark Funeral Home
