Bobbie (Betty) Guyton Davis

Services for Bobbie (Betty) Guyton Davis, 59, of Jacksonville will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Willowhead Missionary Baptist Church.  Rev. William Brinson, Pastor with Bishop Vernon L. Walker, Sr. officiating services with interment to follow at Peaceful Rest Cemetery  Pallbearers will be members of the Central High School Class of 1972.  Mrs. Davis was born on December 23, 1953 in Metcalfe to the proud parents the late Dave Guyton, Sr. and Pinkie Harrison Guyton, she was the fifth of nine children.  Betty was known by many and loved by all whom she graced with her presence.  She finished high school at Central High School, Thomasville, Georgia in 1972 and continued her education receiving an Associate Degree of Science of Finance at Florida Keys Community College, Key West, Florida in 1985.  Her co-workers at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) knew her, where she worked for 18 years, for her singing and for being a radical Christian on fire for Jesus.  She retired from the work force in 2009.  She enjoyed Ministering and Singing to the inmate in the Jails and often volunteered at the Clay County Jail and the Montgomery Correctional Facility in Jacksonville, Florida.  Betty was one that was on fire for the Lord, what she talked she walked.  She was determined to be about the Lord’s business.  Her FAITH in the Lord was her greatest peculiarity to others; some have said that she had a “CRAZY FAITH”.  There was never a time in which she doubted God.  If God said it, it was good enough for her.  She never mistrusted the Words of the Lord.  Her walk with God was sacred and wholesome.  She had a pure and great love for her children and grandchildren.  She made a way to always provide and protect her family and still serve God.  Her bout with life ended January 15, 2013.  Needles to say, “Betty” tried to fight to hang on for the family, but she quietly took the hands of Jesus; her job on Earth was done.  Bobbie (Betty) Guyton Davis was a woman of Hope, Faith and Truth and most of all a Prayer Warrior.  She leaves behind many loved ones to cherish and celebrate her legacy.  A daughter, Segie Jackson (Antonio) of Jacksonville, Florida; sons, Lieutenant Commander Roderick Davis, Jr. (Leticia) - military station in Yokosuka, Japan; Derrick (Rico) R.
