Funeral services for Brother Clifford Jackson, Sr., 68, of Thomasville will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at St. Mark AME Church, 700 Lester St., Thomasville.  Rev. Kevin Moore, Pastor, Rev. James Bank, Eulogist.  Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 10526 US Hwy. 84 East, Thomasville.  Mr. Jackson was born on April 2, 1944 in Thomasville to the late Josie Ruth and Cleveland Jackson, Sr.  He was a member of St. Mark AME Church where he served on the Steward’s Board.  Mr. Jackson was a graduate of Douglass High School Class of 1964 and the Thomas Tech Machine Shop Program Class of 1972.  He was also a member of American Legion, Disabled Veteran’s of America and VFW.  During his life Mr. Jackson worked in construction and in lawn service.  On July 3, 1964 Mr. Jackson wed Ms. Beatrice D. Sykes and their union would continue until the time of his passing.  Mr. Jackson was a lifetime resident of Thomasville and he departed this life at his home on Sunday, January 27, 2013.  Survivors to cherish his memory include his wife Beatrice D. Jackson of Thomasville; sons Clifford Jackson, Jr. (Donna) of Fayetteville, NC and Dexter Anton Jackson, Sr. (Malekia) of Thomasville; daughters Tanja Lachelle Anderson (Tiresias) and Ladondra Anissa Jackson both of Thomasville; brothers Cleveland Jackson, Jr. (Eloise) of Sumter, SC and Willie Lee Jackson (Barbara) of Thomasville; sisters Elizabeth P. Rogers (William) of Woodstock, Jacquelyn Jackson of Atlanta and Gwendolyn M. Jackson of Woodstock; special cousin Margaret Hunter (Elbert) of Thomasville; mother-in-law Bertha S. Griffin; sister-in-law Betty S. Banks (James); god mother Catherine Anderson; god sons Freddie Robinson and Farris Spencer; god daughters Essie Beckwith and Natalie Spencer; seventeen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Public viewing will be held on Friday from 12 Noon until 8 p.m.  The body will lie instate at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral hour with no viewing following the eulogy. — Hatcher-Peoples Funeral Home
