June Carroll Barden

— Funeral services for June Carroll Barden of Boston will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at the Whiddon-Shiver Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Gerald Horne will officiate services with interment to follow immediately afterwards at Carolina St., Laurel Hill Cemetery.  Mrs. Barden was born on May 22, 1928 in Atlanta to the late Robert Fred Carroll and Ethel Shields.  She worked during her life as a homemaker.  Ms. Carroll, as she was known before marriage, wed Mr. James Stewart “Carl” Barden on September 14, 1975 in Thomasville and their union would continue until the time of his passing on October 9, 1995.  She departed this life on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Brynwood Nursing Home in Monticello, FL.  Survivors to cherish her memory include her daughter Ethel Adrian Hurst McDonald of Coolidge; grandsons Robert McDonald of Mobile, AL, William Wayne McDonald of Missouri and Christopher Mark McDonald of Coolidge; great-grandson William Wayne Anthony, Jr.; great-granddaughter Cindy McDonald; great-grandson Anthony McDonald.  The family will receive friends one-half hour before the service.  Sign the register book on-line at — Whiddon-Shiver Funeral Home
