Eddie Lee Burkes


Graveside services for Eddie Lee Burkes, 76, of Thomasville will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Sunset Cemetery in Meigs.  Minister Josie Burkes will officiate services.  Mr. Burkes was born on November 26, 1935 in Meigs to the late Eddie Davis and Ardie Davis.  During his life he worked as a plaster contractor.  Survivors to cherish his memory include his sons Willie Lee Burkes (Josie) of Thomasville, Larry Burkes of Tallahassee, FL and Kelvin Burkes (Selena) of Daytona, FL; daughter Alice Burkes of Hollywood, FL and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins and friends.  Relatives and friends are asked to meet at 710 N. Young St. at 12:30 p.m. for the processional.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, November 24, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  The family will receive after the services at 710 N. Young St.
