Eva Butler

THOMASVILLE —

Services for Eva Butler, 84, of Thomasville, are at 3 p.m., Dec. 1, 2012, at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, 435 N. Stevens St. The Rev. Emory Hopkins and the Rev. Jerry Butler will officiate and interment is in Peaceful Rest Cemetery in Thomasville. Pallbearers are deacons of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Butler died Nov. 27 at Archbold Hospital. Born Oct. 30, 1928, in Thomas County, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Lucille Streeter and Levy Walker. She was married to William Butler Sr. and was a member of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church. She was a household technician. Survivors include sons, Charles Smith Sr. of Atlanta, Robbie Smith of Glendale, Md., Walden Walker (Mary Beth) of Highland Ranch, Colo., William Butler Jr. (Juanita) of Tampa, Fla., the Rev. Jerry Butler (Glennis) of Oklahoma, Alvin Butler (Nancy) of Thomasville; daughters, Sandra Brown (Richard), Evangelist Hattie Hudson, Glenda Terrell (Carl) all of Thomasville; 24 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter, Kathleen Butler Duncan, aunt and uncle, Ethel and Charlie Hall; and daughter-in-law, Teressa Smith. The viewing is from 3 to 8 p.m., today at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour at the church. — Hatcher-Peoples Funeral Home
