Rant & Rave May 3, 2008

“Why does Thomas County government allow a non-emergency county employee to drive a county-owned pickup truck home in southern Grady County? Taxpayers are having enough difficulty paying for their own gasoline and vehicles without footing the bill for a county employee's transportation and fuel. County commissioners should know better.”

“If GSP wants to really save fuel, the troopers need to slow down.”

“Stop with the crying about the government vehicles being used to drop kids off at school and fire trucks going out to eat. You waste a lot more gas riding around doing nothing than they do. I am a citizen, not a public employee, and it does not bother me. What we need is gas rationing coupons like they had in WWII and that would stop you people from riding and wasting gas.”

“Government employees are riding around in the public’s vehicles for personal business because our elected officials condone it. They are at fault, and that’s why I don’t plan to vote for any incumbent.”

“Mr. Young, religion can no more prove the existence of God than science can disprove it.”

“It’s great to hear those football pads cracking again. I can’t wait until the season gets started. Hopefully, it will be another banner year for local teams.”
