Rant & Rave May 9, 2008

“I know all we talk about is sports on the sports page and about all the local teams, but I'd like to say congratulations to the Thomas County Central band. They went to Disney World and represented the South and did a fantastic job and brought back some trophies. Mr. Michial, you're doing a great job. There were a lot of Northern bands a lot bigger than them, but the Southern boys and girls did their job. Congratulations."

“Congratulations to the Thomasville High School girls tennis team for making it to the final four. Good luck."

“Randy Young is a typical educator. He is never satisfied with the salary, vacation and time off like Christmas, Easter, spring, summer, fall, teacher workdays, etc., and many other holidays and benefits. That's a joke."

“If I hear another political candidate say ‘I want what's best for the kids,’ I am not even going to bother to vote.”

“I've been a classroom teacher for the last 23 years, and Randy Young nailed it. People outside education have no clue how tough teaching kids can be, although they sure are quick to blame teachers when their own kids can't, don’t or won’t learn.”

“The TCCHS soccer team did the county proud. Our seniors can leave with their heads held high. We are proud of each of you. You leave behind a legacy of skill, hard work, teamwork and sportsmanship. Chip, Ethan, Garrett, Jeremy and Nick, we'll miss you! Thanks for your leadership.”
