Rant & Rave May 10, 2008

“Is it true that this paper just writes about sports? Every time you turn around in Rant and Rave, people have to call in and say something about sports. You’ve got a sports page. Can’t you keep sports on the sports page and keep it out of Rant and Rave? We’d like to know what’s wrong with this county instead of reading about soccer, baseball or football.”

“I agree Cairo is part of our larger community and deserves coverage, so this is not a slap at our good friends across the river. However, the sports editor needs to recognize that Thomasville teams deserve equal if not more prominent coverage of successes. Shame on you,

Times-Enterprise, for giving Cairo the banner coverage over Brookwood Friday.”

“People who try to vent their frustrations on teachers need to get a life. If you are so jealous of our situation in life, go to college and get a degree in education. I'd like to see how you would fare in a classroom with 21 screaming children!”

“I think the four-day, 10-hour work week some Grady County departments are switching to is a great idea. More should follow suit.”

“Smart move, Roy Campbell. That is exactly what the county needs on Ga. 122, more traffic with a commercial/industrial park.”

“Teachers should be like everybody else. If they don’t like their job, they should fine another one.”
