— Services for Joseph Milton McClain, 81, of Coolidge, are at 1 p.m., May 17, 2008, at Silverhill Missionary Baptist Church in Coolidge. The Rev. Warren C. Hope will officiate and interment is in Peaceful Rest Cemetery. Active pallbearers are nephews and deacons of Silverhill, Sweetville, New Bethel and Merrillville churches. Mr. McClain died May 8 at Archbold Hospital. Born Aug. 14, 1926, in Thomas County, he was a son of the late Willie and Carlee McClain. On Nov. 5, 1966, in Thomas County, he married Covene McGill who preceded him in death. He was a member of Silverhill Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include sons, Joseph (Jody) McClain of Coolidge, Tim McClain of Atlanta; daughter, Katie McClain of Valdosta; sisters, Mary R. Greene of Coolidge, Martha Ervin of Arizona, Opal Calhoun of Coolidge; grandchildren, Candace and Mikel of Atlanta; grandchildren, Kenneth, Steven and Daniel of Valdosta; niece, Terri Watts of Coolidge; cousin, Jake Mitchell of Coolidge; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The viewing is from noon to 8:30 p.m., today at the funeral home and from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour Saturday at the church. — Hatcher-Peoples Funeral Home
