Rant & Rave June 30

“I just turned off my cable TV, my cell phone and my Internet service. I also quit eating at night. Still, I can’t find insurance coverage with a $60 policy. Duh!”

“What’s wrong with all the up-and-coming Republican presidential candidates? The same thing that’s wrong with Democrats like Charlie Rangel, Elliot Spitzer and David Paterson. Whether they be Democrats or Republicans, they are crooks and morally corrupt.”

“We would like to commend the nurses on the fifth floor at Archbold Hospital for doing an outstanding job of taking care of our father. They were attentive to Daddy and sweet to our entire family.”

“Thanks to the person who called in about Michael Jackson’s picture being all over the front page of our paper. I think it was a slap in the face to three-fourths of the American people to do such a thing. And then on page 5, they had a small article on Farrah Fawcett. What a shame! That tells us a lot of what our country has gone to. This probably won’t be printed, but at least I’m having a say.”

“Wouldn’t it be nice if Ochlocknee could have a Dollar Store like Pavo and Coolidge?”

“Do we really need such little gun control that private citizens can buy guns that ‘defeat all levels of body armor and cut through steel plates?’”

“To the ranter complaining about the crackheads in his community: Now you know how the rest of us feel. Join the happy crew. You are not alone.”

“Thank you, Rep. Sanford Bishop. The House of Representatives passed the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009 (ACES), by a vote of 219-212. Now to the Senate.”
