Rant & Rave July 4

“Praise to Teresa Williams for her reporting of the tragic wreck on Remington. Her words were very kind. I didn’t even know Mr. Mosley, but the story brought tears to my eyes.”

“Thanks to the man who came to my aid when my dog got hit on Highway 319. I appreciate you for your help and concern. You made it a lot easier for me.”

“I have extensively studied the M.J. picture causing all the uproar and I agree with the Times-Enterprise. He is holding up his first finger, which is not remotely obscene. Give the paper a break and get a life. There are many more important issues which you could obsess on. Enough already.”

“This reader, for one, would never accuse the editor of being discerning. If not outright obscene, the Michael Jackson picture suggests an inappropriate gesture and is certainly not the most flattering image that could have been used on the front page.”

“Would you please look at the Michael Jackson photo again? He is not holding up his middle finger. It is his pointer finger. He was dancing. The paper did a great job with the photo.”

“Are people blind or just ignorant? The photo of Michael Jackson shows his index finger sticking up. That is not ‘the finger’ gesture.”

“If you think our country is starting to look like Iran or Venezuela, then you really need to do some traveling.”

“If you think Georgia is redneck for celebrating its heritage, then don’t let the door hit you in the butt on your way out of the state. We don’t need racist people like you here.”
