Rant & Rave Aug. 20

“Bush will leave office with our country $10 trillion in debt, fighting two wars, our international reputation in shambles, our government cloaked in secrecy and suspicion, and our citizens' faith in our own country nearly gone. Can we really afford four more years of this if John McCain is elected?”

“I saw ‘Swamp Thing’ coming out of Cherokee Lake but it grabbed my cell phone before I could dial 911! Walkers, beware!”

“Life may begin at conception, but human life begins at birth. That’s when we begin to learn, to reason, to love and to hate.”

“Big business being in bed with big government was the breeding ground for the skyrocketing oil prices. That’s not necessarily McCain’s fault, yet it lies squarely in his political party’s line of responsibility.”

“I hope no one from other cities read this paper because we look like a bunch of backwoods hicks talking about sharks in a freshwater pond!”

“We don't need the comics section at all. Just read Rant and Rave or, better yet, read the article about sharks in a freshwater pond!”

“I liked the shark story. It’s gave me a good chuckle to start my day.”
