rants & raves August 28,2008

“Many many thanks to the utility company employees who worked so hard to get power restored during and after TS Fay. You risked your lives to help those who were told to stay inside during the dangerous weather. I appreciate you."

“Not only does TCC have to play second fiddle to Cairo and Thomasville but now we have to be fourth behind Bainbridge. Whats up with that Mr. Thompson? Do you dislike Coach Shaver that much?"

“Many thanks for the support from our local Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They brought prayers, food and drink to Plantation Woods on Sunday when we were in dire need."

“The Times-Enterprise needs to add a Section P to the paper. All Pilcher, all the time. We've moved on, why can't you?"

“The people who drove around the barricades on Barnetts Creek should be charged with reckless endangerment as well as failure to obey traffic signs. They should be charged for the cost of their rescue. I, for one, am tired of picking up the tab."

“It was deja vu again as I looked down Water Oaks Lane in Plantation Woods and saw the water in the same spot as it was back in 1984. Several houses were flooded then but folks tended to forget and built again and again. I know, we had invested hard earned money on 2.8 acres when the area was new and had to sell it dirt cheap after that flood."

“A big thank you to all the utility crews who worked so tirelessly to restore our power all over town. You guys are the best."
